Working within the language of portraiture, I investigate relationships conditional to my surroundings, encounters and personal experience. Coincidences, the relationships between things, causality and the actual experience of people and of being, persona and identity are issues have plagued, preoccupied and fascinated me my entire life. How people operate, and other issues in the nature of human condition, intrigue me to no end. I am driven to make my work by a need to understand and an anxiety of loss--not a loss of material things, but loss of thoughts/ideas, of time, of experience and memory...things that are inevitably and otherwise fleeting. My work is an anxious documentation of my findings, fantasies and theories, of people, of a life that each second, slips through my hands faster than I can even begin to comprehend it.
